Things to do in the Languedoc: Fishing, Angling
Sea Fishing.
There are many opportunities for sea anglers in Languedoc-Roussillon.
You can fish from the quayside or from a boat, either at sea
or on the lagoons. Among the fish thriving in these waters,
you will find eels, bream, bass and grey mullet.
Fresh Water Fishing
To fish you must have a holiday fishing permit "carte de pêche vacances". With this permit you can fish for 15 consecutive days between the 1st June and the 15th September. You can buy this permit in any fishing shop from the 1st June. A "carte jeune" (youth pass) allows youngsters under 16 to fish during the entire fishing season.
Fresh water fishing spots include Pyrenean rivers, lowland
rivers, lakes, purpose built ponds, and the Canal
du Midi.
Some suggested lakes: Laprade, Le Lampy, Cennes Monestiés, Saint-Denis, Arques, Jouarres, La Cavayère, Les Cammazes, La Ganguise, Régembert, Montbel.
